The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich follows the dramatic ascension of Nazi military power and its eventual defeat at the hands of the Allied powers. In September 1939, Nazi Germany first unleashed its lightening-fast warfare, Blitzkrieg, upon a hapless Poland. By June of 1940, with the surrender of France, German military forces dominated the European continent. Less than 5 years later, Nazi Germany lay in ruin and their military power shattered.

1. Invasion of Europe: On September 1st 1939, Nazi Germany unleashed “Blitzkrieg,” its lightening warfare. In four weeks, Poland was crushed. In less than a year, Western Europe would succumb to a similar fate.

2. Battle of Britain: With France vanquished, Nazi Germany turned the full force of its arms on Great Britain. As London reeled under the Nazi onslaught, the fate of a free Europe hung in the balance.

3. The Eastern Front: The war on the Eastern front saw the bloodiest, most brutal fighting of the entire war. Over four critical years, millions of men clashed across a two thousand mile front.

4. The Turning Tide: With the U.S. entry into the war, the balance of power began to shift inexorably towards the allies. In the desert of El Alamein, along the frozen Volga, on the beaches of Casablanca, slowly and steadily the tide began to turn.
